Calgar Flames’ star rookie Sean Monahan is out for a few weeks after fracturing his foot in last night’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks. He’s been leading the team in goals, and is second in points. His injury is undoubtedly bad for the team, as he was one of the main offensive contributors. His presence will definitely be missed. Right now, I’m just hoping the injury isn’t very serious, because it’d be extremely unfortunate if his bright career is undermined by a series of injuries. I hope they Flames don’t rush him in his recovery, but that he still comes back as soon as possible.
The Flames aren’t doing particularly well right now, which is to say they’re still playing quite horribly. They’re sitting at 8-12-4, and the future isn’t looking too positive. Reto Berra, the new goalie, looks promising at times, and anything but promising at other times. The sole consolation is that they’re doing better than the Edmonton Oilers.
The Boston Bruins, the only other team I’m cheering for this year, are doing good, as per usual. Jarome Iginla really hasn’t been able to put points up like he was expected to, but he seems to be playing farily well. At any rate, the team is doing good enough to be able to predict (or at least hope for) another deep playoff run. Again, I really hope the Bruins win this year, because no one deserves winning the Stanley Cup more than Jarome Iginla.
