I wasn’t able to blog for a couple days, so I’ll try to catch up in this post.
The Bruins lost game 3 to the Habs by a score of 4-2. As far as this game went…there were just too many defensive mistakes. Giving up two breakaways is unacceptable. The Bruins weren’t able to control the play, and they were chasing the puck more often than not. Despite that, I’m not done complaining about the officiating. There were two missed calls against the Habs in the final thirty seconds, which would have given Boston a chance to tie the game 2-2. The first was a crystal-clear board/interference/roughing/PENALTY against Jarome Iginla, and the second was the refs missing PK Subban intentionally knocking the net off its moorings to stop the play. The second missed call should have been a penalty shot…just poor officiating in a very important part of the game. I will concede that this was the game where I finally accepted that PK Subban is a damn good hockey player, and being a Bruins fan, I hate him for his talent.
It’s not all bad news; the Bruins won game 4 yesterday by a score of 1-0 in overtime. There wasn’t much offense generated, and the first line of Lucic-Krejci-Iginla needs to step up their play if the Bruins are going to win this series. Still, the Bruins played better in this game, and Tuuka Rask had a great bounceback game – hopefully he can find his game again. The game was pretty much a must-win game, so it’s relieving the Bruins won. I resisted the temptation to watch; studying right now takes precedence. The series swings to Boston now, and I’m going to predict that whichever team wins game 5 will take the series.
I’ll probably post once more again tomorrow, and then won’t do it for just over a week. IB exams are coming up, and I need to be studying right now. It’s a pretty crazy part of the year coming up, and I can’t wait for it to finish…but that means it has to begin first. At any rate, check back tomorrow for some content, and as always, (for this season, at least) Go Bruins!
