But at the moment, I don’t have time for a long post. So I’ll just take a look back at the resolutions I set a whole year ago, and see how they turned out.
If you’re interested, the original post is here: https://abstracthorizons.wordpress.com/2014/01/01/happy-new-year-2014/
- Get into a good university – I think I did an okay job. I got into all the schools I applied to, and the University of Waterloo is a great school for engineering. Mission accomplished.
- Lose some weight – This one is a bit of a rollercoaster. After I started working out, I’m pretty sure I gained 20 lb, which really depressed me, until I learned that muscle weighs more than fat. Still, I was (and am) overweight. I did lose 10 lb during the past four months in university, which was a good thing, but I gained a healthy portion of it back in the last two weeks of getting home food again. So…no net change? But good signs, for sure.
- Get 50 followers on this blog – I did that, and then got some more! Right now I’m sitting at 62. I’m fairly certain I could have gotten a lot more had I posted regularly the past four months, but that didn’t pan out. Hopefully in the new year.
- Make new friends – Honestly, I wrote this because I knew I’d be leaving for university, and that included leaving most of my old friends. Happy to report I made a plethora of friends in university though, so it’s all good. I’m really happy to have met them, the future looks bright. Obligatory: tfw no gf 😦
So that rounds out a pretty awesome year! 2014 was great for me. It saw a lot of change, but good change at that, with a lot of things to look forward to in the future. This upcoming year will see even greater change, and possibly some unnerving challenges. I might discuss these and some goals later, but for now, here’s to making 2015 even better than 2014. Happy New Year!
