I have writing diplomas the next two days, the first within twelve hours. I really haven’t studied much at all for tomorrow, at the most an hour and a half today. But then, you can’t really study for an English writing test of which you don’t know the topic, can you? My mindset going into the test is awful, too; I need to get over 55 to get into university. Not the best attitude to take, but it’s what I’m feeling. So what with the lack of practice and preparation thus far, I’d like to take this time to get my groove on, and practice some writing before it’s all laid on the line.
Facebook: An Unnecessary Evil
I made a Facebook account two years ago to this day. (Nerrrddd, how do you remember? It was on my sixteenth birthday. And yes, happy birthday to me.) It’ll sound cliche to say so, but it really has changed my life. And I’m not entirely sure it’s for the better. Sure, I’ve seen and experienced the benefits, but do they outweigh the detriments?
Nope, not right now. I want to get a good night’s sleep and kill it tomorrow. I’ll see you guys Friday then, after the writing is over! I’ll finish the rest of this post, so please check back then!
If you’re reading, I hope you like the blog.
And for someone who complains about running out of ideas for his blog, oh is there ever a lot to talk about. Let’s get right into it!
First and foremost, IB exams went fairly well. One of them was somewhat easier than I had anticipated, and one was somewhat harder. That’s pretty much it for IB, as it is now done. It feels good, so very, very good. How successfully I completed it is yet to be seen, but for the time being a celebration seems in order. At any rate, I’m confident I passed the exams, because at this point in time in-class marks and diploma marks are more important than IB grades. Why’s that? Well, that takes me to my next point.
After waiting for approximately six months, I heard back from the University of Waterloo that I got accepted! This was the university I was targetting throughout all of high school, because it’s one of the best Canadian schools for engineering. After receiving the good news, I took it with equal parts elation and relief. If I hadn’t gotten in, I really don’t know where I’d go for university (I was torn between Toronto and UBC). I’m happy I don’t have to make that choice, and look forward to university a few months from now!
And now, a bit of a more somber matter. It concerns the Boston Bruins…and it stings to talk about it. Taking a playoff upset is tough, so I’ll actually do this tomorrow. The matter will keep.
I’m in the home stretch for high school now, so the blogging may be a bit more infrequent these days. That said, I’ll do my best to keep up. For the next week, expect a lot of content for sure. Thanks for reading, and I hope you continue to check back here in the days to come!
Just blogging problems.
Being too lazy to generate an appropriate meme. Just blogging problems.
I’ll try harder tomorrow.
For all the followers I have out there, please check out my friend’s blog, who’s been blogging much longer than me:
It’s a music blog, and a lot of the music is excellent. The music focusses primarily on nujazz, but there’s a fair bit of variety. He hasn’t posted for quite a while now, so please motivate him into starting again! It’s a shame to see such a great blog die down.
Hope you enjoy it!
It’s a new month, and I am determined to post more often than I did last month, in which I think i posted all of six or seven times in total. That was a rough month, and I hope it never happens again.
You were expecting some more content, weren’t you? April Fools. I got nothing.
More to come soon, I promise.
